Why StatiegeldDelen exists
Almost every household has one: that bag of empty bottles and cans that never quite makes it to the shop. The deposit sits unclaimed and the packaging just gets in the way. StatiegeldDelen turns that into something easy.
Not everyone has the time, the inclination or a car to get to a return machine. At the same time, plenty of people are happy to make the trip — for the deposit. We bring the two together: one person is rid of the bag, the other earns a few euros. And every bottle and can goes back into the loop.
We deliberately kept it simple and honest. StatiegeldDelen is free, no payments run through the platform, and we never ask for your payment details. You settle directly with each other, in cash or with your own payment request. On the map your location is rounded to about 100 metres; you only share your exact address once you confirm a pickup.
StatiegeldDelen is an independent project, made in the Netherlands. We’re currently in closed beta and building it out step by step — with feedback from our first users.

More than just the deposit
Every bag you pass on instead of throwing away counts twice: someone gets the deposit back, and the packaging goes back into the loop.
For example: one hallway-cupboard bag is easily around 27 containers going back into the loop — and € 5.25 in deposits that doesn’t go to waste.
Back in the loop
Deposit bottles and cans are recycled at high quality into new packaging. Whatever gets collected through StatiegeldDelen doesn’t end up in the street or in general waste.
Nothing left behind
Deposit money that would otherwise sit forgotten in a cupboard — or disappear into the bin with the bag — makes its way back to someone.
Less litter
Bottles and cans are among the most commonly found litter. Every collected bag is packaging that doesn’t end up in a verge or waterway.

StatiegeldDelen is coming to the App Store and Google Play soon. The beta is already running — in Dutch and English from day one.
